Women Become United Through the Mouse
Albany, Ga (December 17, 2004). Glennette Yelverton of Premium Web Design and Hosting has recently become a Charter Member of the Women’s ECommerce Association International – WECAI.org (pronounced wee-kī). The Women’s Ecommerce Association International is global organization focused on promoting, educating, and advocating for women who do business on the web. According to Heidi Richards, Founder & CEO, “Our goal is to encourage women to do business worldwide, to help women become united through the mouse. The Board of Advisors and I are very excited that women all over the world have found WECAI and are joining!”
Yelverton, a web developer since 1999, provides services including Web design, Web hosting, search engine optimization, and ecommerce. “WECAI.org was recommended by a member of another networking group I belong to,” shares Yelverton. “I visited the website and was so impressed that I became a member almost immediately. I am looking forward to growing personally and professionally through this new organization which helps women do business on the Web.”
The International board has big plans for WECAI.org. They include creating the FIRST Women’s Who’s Who in Ecommerce Directory, starting chapters on all seven continents, designing an Ecommerce Academy for women to further their knowledge and experience, and an International Congress bringing women together from every corner of the globe. The Congress is scheduled for September 2005 and will take place on the beautiful island of Saõ Miguel in the Azores.
